Rare and very old (1880) Hardy salmon fly reel, Birmingham type, well marked Hardy Bros Makers Alnwick and with "Rod in hand" logo. Size 3 1/4 (diameter 8.3 cm, width 4 cm). All bronze, with four brass spacers, one of which rotates, horn crank handle, noisemaker pawl. In perfect working order and very good condition considering its age. Comes in a Hardy purse-type case, fleeced, well inscribed Hardy Bros ltd, Alnwick.
